Governor Phil Murphy recently delivered his list of proposed projects for the much-anticipated first round of funding of the Library Construction Bond Act. As you know, the Ridgewood Public Library submitted a request for a $3.45 million grant in support of its Reimagine project to the State Librarian for consideration in June, but despite a compelling proposal did not receive funding in the highly competitive first round. While this news is disappointing, we remain committed to reimagining the library's space to meet the lifelong learning needs of all Village residents.

To that point, the second round of awards, totaling $37.5 million, is planned for the first quarter of 2021. The Ridgewood Library looks forward to resubmitting its proposal for consideration, and the Library Board of Trustees, Friends of the Library, and Ridgewood Library Foundation remain enthusiastic and committed to the Reimagine Project.
