It was a busy week for BQG. The week ended with an all day mini retreat on Saturday October 10th. A big shout out goes to June Giovanniello and Kathy Reichard for developing and coordinating the day. All their planning and details made the day successful, informative and of course fun. There were very generous door prizes donated by The Quilt Spot, Acme Fabrics, The Quilt Tree and Sew Jersey. There was also a a raffle table with items donated by members, a snack table with baked goods and lunch was provided.
Participants were provided with instructions for projects which included a beautiful giant door bow, an undercover sewing machine mat and a fabric utility basket. Personal projects and hand work were also brought. Please enjoy some highlights of the day.

Some highlights from last night's member's trunk show we were treated to. Our presenters were Kathy Hanzer who is a long standing member of the Brownstone Guild, who creates beautiful works of art using an age old method of quilting with wool.
And Yoonjoo Lee, a newer member who creates beautiful and colorful contemporary quilts. Both women shared their individual stories of how their journey into the world of quilting began and continues today.

Guild members who attended QAYL this week were treated to a treasure trove of donated quilt items from a former member's mother's collection. These were mostly unfinished crazy quilt projects and blocks that were beautifully embellished, and various embroidered items. Our resident quilt historian Peggy Norris as well as others enjoyed looking at and evaluating these beautiful and artful works that encompassed a lifetime. We spoke about how we were going to use them. Hopefully incorporating them in some way into our next quilt show, November 2027.
