On Sunday, May 17, Parlance Chamber Concerts’ 18th season will conclude with a star-studded, all-Brahms finale. The acclaimed violinist Chee-Yun will be joined by two extraordinary young artists: cellist Sterling Elliott, praised for his “astonishing maturity” (The Millbrook Independent), and pianist Henry Kramer, whose Brahms playing has been described as “thrilling and nearly flawless” (Cleveland Classical Review).

The program opens with Brahms’s dramatic Violin Sonata in D minor, followed by the lyrical Cello Sonata in F major. The concert culminates in the towering Piano Trio in B minor, uniting all three artists in a powerful and expressive close to the season.

Renowned for their “amazing technical finesse and overwhelming musical insight” (BBC Music Magazine), the Jerusalem String Quartet returns to Parlance Chamber Concerts on Sunday, April 26 with works by Haydn, Beethoven, and Pulitzer Prize–winning composer Shulamit Ran.

The program will culminate in Beethoven’s Monumental Quartet in B-flat major, Op. 130, including the boundary-pushing Grosse Fuge. This great work—by turns rustic, playful, introspective, and adventurous—showcases the full range of Beethoven’s extraordinary late-life inventiveness and mastery.

On Sunday, January 18 at 4 PM, Parlance Chamber Concerts will present “The Virtuoso Opera Fantasy.” This thrilling program showcases three of today’s most exciting young artists — violinist Benjamin Beilman, cellist Jonathan Swensen, and pianist Orion Weiss — in a dazzling celebration of operatic fantasies.

Drawing on melodies from such beloved operas as Mozart’s The Magic Flute and Bizet’s Carmen, the program features instrumental works that transform iconic operatic themes into virtuosic showpieces. On Sunday, December 7 at 4 PM, Parlance Chamber Concerts will present the renowned Tallis Scholars led by founder and director Peter Phillip. For over five decades, the renowned choir has reigned as the world’s leading interpreters of Renaissance sacred music.
