Bruce Huester took me up on my offer to take a low time pilot on an intro to XC flying and decision making flight. We began with a ground briefing about what we were to accomplish.
The tow was not promising with no lift found on tow until north of the industrial area where we hit a bump. Releasing at 3,000 ft. In a 4 kt thermal climbing to 5000. As long as we stayed northwest of the industrial park things were good but southeast nothing but sink.

A ridge set up forming a cloud street NE to SW along that division. So at 5000 ft over i95 over the cement plant we went on glide flying SW under the street for about 10 miles to Tarboro SC and climbing to 6100 ft. along the way.
Turned around and flew back to I95 without loosing any altitude.
Shortly after conditions colasped and struggling began.

During the flight Bruce worked on his thermaling skills, speed control and rudder skills. I beleive his instructors will be pleased with the improvement.

I enjoyed sharing my knollege and experience. Also I learning quite a bit about handling the ASK21 myself.

We ended the day after 1.5 hs of flight and me demonstrating an off field landing with steep approach hitting my spot, kissing the main gently and stopping within 250 ft.
