We’ve got a little more news about that Defender Service Award you’ve been helping us chase…

WE’RE FINALISTS!!

Out of hundreds of organizations, OPFOB has made it to the final two in the running for the grand prize: a brand-new Land Rover Defender 130 and $30,000 to put toward our mission.

In a couple of weeks, JR will be heading to California for the final celebration, where we’ll find out if that Defender is coming home to the Lowcountry.

But we didn’t get here by ourselves…

You showed up. Day after day. You voted, shared, reminded your friends, rallied your communities, and kept pushing us forward. YOU are the reason we made it this far.

Whatever happens in California, we’re already incredibly proud of what this community accomplished together. And we’re incredibly grateful to every single person who stood behind OPFOB and helped put our mission in front of the world.

Two finalists. One Defender. One incredible community behind us.

A BREW WORTH RAISING A GLASS TO! 🇺🇸

What happens when you put a master brewer and a crew of First Responders together? A whole lot of science, laughter, camaraderie… and apparently, one very brave brewer!

Master Brewer Walter from lot 9 brewing co. brought together some of our local heroes to help create the special 9-1-1 More Brew that will be served at our First Responders Appreciation Day.

From sharing stories to getting hands-on with the brewing process, it was a great reminder that the bonds between First Responders run deep… and sometimes, they pair pretty well with a good craft brew. 🍻

A huge THANK YOU to Walt and the entire Lot 9 team for honoring our First Responders and including them in the creation of this special memorial brew.

And just to clear up one important detail…

No influence was used to put—errrr, GET—Walt into the vat. 😂

THE RIDE IS BACK ON!

What was supposed to happen in May is happening Saturday, September 19!

Operation: Ride for the Heroes—Lowcountry is back after weather forced us to cancel the original ride, and we’re picking up right where we left off.

Join OPFOB, the Xtreme Couture GI Foundation, and the Blue Knights for a 75-mile escorted ride through the Lowcountry of South Carolina and Georgia with special guest rider Randy Couture—6x UFC Champion, U.S. Army Veteran, and founder of the Xtreme Couture GI Foundation.

START: Savannah Harley-Davidson
Kickstands up at 10:30 AM
Arrive at OPFOB at approximately 12:00 PM

When we arrive at the FOB, riders are invited to stay and join us for our First Responders Appreciation Day at no additional cost.

The ceremony begins at 12:30 PM, followed by lunch, live music, activities, raffle and silent auction items, and more.

As we gather to honor those who continue to answer the call, we’ll also commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11 and remember the courage and sacrifice of those who ran toward danger in our nation’s darkest hour.

One ride. Two incredible causes. One unforgettable day.

A heartfelt thank you to the Riverton Charitable Fund for their generous grant in support of the OPFOB Service Dog Program.

This funding will help provide a service dog to a veteran in Jasper County, creating a life-changing partnership built on companionship, purpose, and support.

We’re grateful for your investment in our mission and for helping us continue to serve those who have served us.
