Join us at the 2026 Lowcountry 4-H Convention!
We are less than 40 days away from the launch of the inaugural Lowcountry 4-H Convention on Saturday, September 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Citadel Mall in Charleston! This event, designed to increase awareness of South Carolina 4-H and its opportunities as well as of the services of Clemson Cooperative Extension, features programs and activations for all ages:
• The Lowcountry 4-H Cooking Competition and the Lowcountry 4-H Poster Contest
• Workshops for the whole community hosted at the Clemson Extension TEACH Center and led by both South Carolina 4-H and Tri-County Clemson Extension staff
• Taste of 4-H: STEM Edition 'mock' meetings hosted by Reforge Charleston
• A Back-to-School Giveaway and a Vendor Market for local businesses, farmers, artisans, and craftspersons — both co-hosted by partner nonprofit, I Serve With Joy
• A Community Resources Fair featuring local agencies, fellow youth-serving organizations, and other nonprofits
If you have access to FOX 24 News Now, I will be featured in a promotional segment about South Carolina 4-H, highlighting the Lowcountry 4-H Convention, next Friday, August 21, at 12:30pm and 11pm, as well as on their YouTube channel, so please be on the lookout!
While my committee and I are appreciative of all the support, donations, sponsorships, and feedback we've received to make this event happen, we could still use some hands-on assistance on the day of the event to make it a great success that the entire community can enjoy. Whether it's staff, community members, 4-H'ers/alums, any Clemson volunteers, or teen council members and ambassadors, ALL are welcome to register to volunteer: https://ideali.st/RxYrku
Volunteers will be assigned to either one specific program area from those listed above, the setup team, or the cleanup crew. They will report to their program team lead during their time slot for day-of instructions. No previous convention or conference experience is needed! Each volunteer will receive a lanyard with their assignment details. They should turn it in at the end of their volunteer shift in exchange for a "Thank you" gift!
You can also attend the event just for the festivities and to have fun! Either way, please share the opportunity within your communities and circles of influence.
Booths are still available for the Vendor Market and Community Resources Fair inside the Citadel Mall! Learn more at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2026-lowcountry-4-h-convention-booth-registration-registration-1985087011689.

Thanks for helping us to "make the best better" with 4-H and Clemson Extension!
