On September 27, 2025, our incredible community came together at Captain Lawrence Brewery in Elmsford NY for the annual Kindness Over Muscular Dystrophy (KOMD) event, “One Wish One Cure” and set new records in the fight against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy!
Together, we shattered records, raising an incredible $444,000.00 in a single evening! With this milestone, KOMD’s total fundraising stands just shy of $3 million. This achievement is a powerful testament to the kindness and commitment of our donors, sponsors, and friends.
This year’s fundraiser was especially meaningful, marking the fifteenth birthday of the twins - Kyle and Conner. For our family, every birthday for Conner is a cherished victory a celebration of resilience, love, and hope. Your generosity is fueling life-changing research and bringing us closer to a cure, giving every child with Duchenne the brighter tomorrow they deserve.
We were moved by inspirational speeches from KOMD President Joe Griffin, Nathan Reynolds, Max Whitters, Andrew Fitzpatrick, and Kyle Colsey—Conner’s dedicated friends who eloquently described how inspiring Conner is and how meaningful their friendship with him is, and a touching personal testimony from Jessica, who gave a Mom’s perspective of Conner’s courageous journey in the face of incredible obstacles. These heartfelt words reminded us how unity and hope can bring inspiration and meaning into our lives.
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a progressive genetic disorder that steals strength and independence from children, mostly boys, as they grow. Advances in research are bringing new hope, but there is still no cure—making every dollar and every show of support absolutely vital.
