BATTLE OF THE BARTENDERS: K9 vs. DIVE TEAM

Things are getting competitive at the Mötley Crüe concert tonight!!

WHO CAN EARN THE MOST TIPS?!

The best part? 100% of the tips our volunteers earn tonight go directly back to CCSO SAR, helping cover the roughly $18 - $20K a year it takes to keep our Search & Rescue team trained, equipped and ready to respond.

So yes — we are absolutely hustling!

If you’re at the concert tonight, COME FIND US! Tip generously, choose your allegiance, and help settle this once and for all:

TEAM K9 🐕‍🦺 or TEAM DIVE 🤿?!

May the best team win.

🐾 National Dog Day: Meet Ember & Moki!

For our second National Dog Day spotlight, we're introducing you to two K9s you may not often see or hear about.

Ember and Moki are Historic Human Remains Detection K9s with Clark County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue, working alongside their handlers, Moriah Berthrong and Victoria Armstrong.

Most recently, the teams have assisted with ongoing searches for Jamie Grissim, who was 16 when she disappeared in 1971. CCSO investigators believe Jamie was a victim of convicted serial killer Warren Forrest, and search efforts have continued in the Dole Valley area in hopes of finding answers for her family.

This month, Ember, Moki, and their handlers received Paws Hero Awards for their dedication and involvement in the last five searches for Jamie.

Their specialized skills continue to play an important role in this decades-old case, and we're proud to recognize their work this National Dog Day. 🐕‍🦺💙

Our hearts are with the family and loved ones of the 19-year-old whose life was tragically lost.

Members of our Clark County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Dive & K9 teams were honored to assist our partner agencies in bringing him home.

Please keep his family, friends, and everyone affected by this unimaginable loss in your thoughts.

Yesterday evening at 7:34 PM, Camas police and fire units were dispatched to a water emergency at the south side of Round Lake in Lacamas Park. The 911 caller reported a male was struggling to swim after jumping off the rope swing near the Lacamas Creek Dam.

Sending out lots of love to our friends in Felida, Salmon Creek, and random passers-by in WA who donated to our team while at the local Minit Mart - Felida!!

Thank you all so much for supporting your friendly local Search and Rescue team.

June Change Jar: $83
July Change Jar: $75.53

Let’s make a record with the August change jar!!!

Fun fact: If Clark County was impacted by fire and residents have to evacuate, our team would be the men and women knocking on your doors, 24/7, assisting our community in times of disaster and critical emergent needs.

What were your friendly neighborhood Search & Rescue heroes and she-roes up to this weekend?

✔️ Launching sand into the stratosphere.
✔️ Getting vehicles intentionally stuck.
✔️ Getting them intentionally unstuck.
✔️ Teaching recovery techniques.
✔️ Hanging out with good humans and even better K9s.
✔️ Helping a stranded family get back on their way.

Most people spend their free time trying NOT to get stuck.

Your local CCSO Search and Rescue 4x4 Team?

“Hold my kinetic Spartanrope.”

Because when someone gets stranded miles from help, it’s a terrible time to discover nobody knows what they’re doing.

We’d rather practice now than improvise later.

The radio crackles.

An airplane has crashed somewhere in the rugged mountains of Southwest Washington. Multiple passengers. Survivor count unknown. Information is limited.

Within minutes, Search and Rescue volunteers from across the region mobilize toward the crash site.

In the first tri-county regional training exercise of its kind, more than 110 Search and Rescue volunteers from five agencies came together for a full-scale simulated aircraft crash exercise, testing the skills, equipment, and teamwork we'll rely on when lives are truly on the line.

Over two operational periods, volunteers searched more than two square miles of heavily forested and post-burn terrain, utilizing K9s, drones, medics, ground teams, Incident Command, and specialized search resources to locate clues, rescue survivors, and recover the missing.

Real emergencies don't come with rehearsals. Every exercise strengthens our partnerships, sharpens our skills, and builds confidence before the next real call for help.

Thank you to every volunteer, role player, and partner agency who made this incredible weekend possible. Together, we proved that Search and Rescue in the Pacific Northwest is more than a collection of teams. It's a community united by one mission: bringing loved ones home.

The next call could be yours to answer.

Applications for the Clark County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Academy open this October.
