25 years ago, our country and the world changed forever.

Today, we honor the 2,977 lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001. We remember the families who lost loved ones, the selfless service of the first responders, and the countless heroes who stepped forward to help when our country needed them the most.

As we remember the tragic events of 9/11, we are also reminded of the strength, courage, and compassion that brought Americans together. Twenty-five years later, that spirit remains a part of who we are.

We remember those we lost. We honor those who served. And we will never forget.

A new administrative year for the ALA began in Louisville, Ky., when we concluded our 105th National Convention. Now, the next chapter begins — with new leadership at the helm of our organization. Dr. Coral May Grout of Massachusetts was elected national president of the American Legion Auxiliary by delegates during the convention. 🌟

One week from today will mark the 25th anniversary of a day that changed America and the world forever.

As we remember the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001, we are also reminded of the strength, courage, and compassion that brought our country together. One way we can carry that spirit forward is through service.

On Sept. 12, American Legion Auxiliary members are invited to join the National Day of Service and Remembrance by helping clean headstones and beautify national cemeteries.
