Boy Scout Troop 848 Troop 848- Where Boys Lead! Building confidence, character, and real-world leadership through adventure. Join us the 2nd - 5th Mondays.

Serving boys ages 11-18 in the greater Ridgecrest area - Desert District, Southern Sierra Council of Scouting America.

Some weekends are made for getting off the shore. 🛶

This weekend, our Scouts headed to Lake Diaz for a canoeing campout, and got a weekend full of paddling, camping, exploring, and figuring things out together.

Because Scouting isn’t just about learning about something. It’s about getting out there and doing it.

New skills.
New challenges.
A little teamwork.
A lot of adventure.

And maybe a few wet Scouts along the way. 😄

These are the experiences that build confidence and independence: learning something new, working together, pushing through the hard parts, and discovering that you’re capable of more than you thought.

Tonight’s Court of Honor celebrated a summer full of real accomplishments! 🏕️🏅

Our Scouts were recognized for earning more than EIGHTY merit badges, taking on everything from Home Repair and Astronomy to Wilderness SURVIVAL - and learning skills they’ll be able to use long after summer is over.

We also celebrated nearly half of our Scouts advancing in rank, each taking another step toward the goals they’ve set for themselves.

Because this is what Scouting is really about:
Set a goal. Take on the challenge. Learn by doing. Keep going.

These boys aren’t just collecting badges. They’re building confidence, learning to lead, solving real problems, and discovering what they’re capable of.

The things they’re doing now can shape who they become for years to come.

And with a new school year getting underway, we’re looking forward to seeing what the next group of Scouts will accomplish.
