The "Traveling Gravel Gavel" is on the Move! ⚒️🪨

To the Brethren of Rickreall Lodge #110 and our neighboring Lodges:

We have an update on a very unique piece of Rickreall history! Years ago, one of our own Brothers created the "Gravel Gavel"—a custom-made gavel crafted from actual pea gravel.
This isn't just a conversation piece; it’s a Traveling Gavel with a mission. It was designed to stay in constant motion, carried by Brothers as a gift from one Lodge to another to promote visitation and strengthen the "mystic tie" of fellowship across Oregon.
The Latest Report from the Road:

The Gravel Gavel has recently moved from the hands of Sherwood-Midday Lodge #164 and has been presented to the Brethren at Newberg Lodge #104
We are proud to see this Rickreall original still out there doing its job—giving Brothers a reason to travel, visit new places, and build lasting bonds.
Keep an eye out for the "Gravel" at a Lodge near you!

Past Master’s Night is approaching fast! Once again, we will gather at our OV to honor the Grand Master and enjoy an evening of fellowship and fun as we raise money for the schools we proudly support.
Dress will be casual — bib overalls or jeans. No suits this time!
And don’t forget to bring your sacrificial tie.
Let’s come ready to laugh, give generously, and celebrate together.

On this December 27th, we honor St. John the Evangelist—
a patron of Freemasonry and a timeless reminder of brotherly love, truth, and fellowship.
May his example inspire us to walk uprightly, speak honestly, and extend charity to all.
As we continue our labors, may the Light we have received guide our actions, strengthen our bonds as Brothers, and steady our course wherever our journey may lead

Last night was one of those nights that reminds you why we love this fraternity.

We held a three-way Lodge installation — three Lodges, one room, one shared purpose. It’s always an adventure when we all come together, and it never fails to be one of the highlights of the year. The energy, the fellowship, the laughter… that mix you only get when Brothers from all sides join in the same space.

We were especially honored to have our installations conducted by some truly outstanding Past Grand Masters. Their leadership, experience, and steady hands made the night not only meaningful, but memorable.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, stepped up, and made the evening what it was. Nights like this remind us that Masonry is at its best when we walk together.

Looking forward to another great year ahead.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

A Mason who travels learns what no book can teach.

He discovers that the world is larger than his Lodge room,
and the Craft is bigger than his familiar corner of it.

On the road, a man sees life through new eyes.
Every city challenges what he thinks he knows.
Every Brother he meets leaves a mark that no lecture could make.

He finds pieces of himself in places he never expected—
in a handshake from a stranger,
in a ritual spoken with a different energy,
in stories told by men who wear the same square and compasses
but live a world away.

A traveling Mason doesn’t just go somewhere.
He becomes someone more.

Staying home offers comfort.
Travel offers growth.

And the world?
It’s not only meant to be seen—
it’s meant to shape you.
