Dead Lake Association

Located in Ottertail County, MN DLA, is committed to the protection of the environment and the lake.

Dead Lake Association was incorporated as a non-profit corporation on July 16, 1990. In July 2003, it became a 501(c)(3) environmental education non-profit organization. Information is disseminated to lake porperty owners and the general public through our Web site, www.dead-lake.org, newsletters, articles in the Perham Enterprise Bulletin, pancakse breakfasts, association-sponsored functions and statewide meetings of lake stakeholders.

It has been brought to our attention that it would help share a reminder about best wake boat boating practices, floating weeds mats, and how they can impact everyone's enjoyment of the lake.

Previously the Dead Lake Association commissioned a map identifying the areas that are most appropriate and not appropriate for wake boat operation based on water depth.

We share this map again as a reminder to all lake users along with the reminder that operating wake boats in deeper water helps reduce shoreline impacts and reduces disruption to aquatic vegetation.

We appreciate everyone promoting responsible lake use. Awareness and education helps protect our lake.

From what can be seen from boat launches and roads Dead Lake froze over yesterday. Prior to that there were still large areas of open water so ice is just getting started. Have a safe hard water season!
