🌸 March is Women’s History Month! 🌸

This month, Richton Park proudly celebrates the strength, resilience, innovation, and leadership of women, past and present, who have shaped our history and continue to inspire our future.

From trailblazers who broke barriers…
To community leaders who uplift and serve…
To the everyday women who make a difference in our homes, businesses, schools, and neighborhoods - we honor YOU.

Women’s History Month is a time to reflect, recognize achievements, and recommit ourselves to creating opportunities where every voice is valued and every dream is possible.

Join us this month as we celebrate the women who help make Richton Park strong, vibrant, and full of possibility.

💜 Tag a woman who inspires you.
💬 Share her story in the comments.

The Richton Park Police Department is pleased to announce details of their upcoming February 17th "On-Site Assessment." During this time, trained assessors from peer agencies across the state will arrive to conduct inspections, file review, and audits of the police department. These representatives of the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police (ILACP) will be examining the department to ensure the Richton Park Police Department is worthy of the Illinois Law Enforcement Accreditation Program’s (ILEAP) professional status.

This assessment serves as the initial accreditation for Tier 2 status. Tier 2 includes 179 professional standards in the areas of Training, Operations, Administration, and Personnel.

Chief Cook and the accreditation team invite the public to voice their opinions, experiences, and other information with the accreditation team. On February 17th between 10:00 AM and 10:45 AM, citizens may call in to 708-283-6393, ask to speak to ILEAP, to speak privately with the representatives from the assessment team or email the team at [email protected]. The team wants to hear about your experiences with the Richton Park Police Department and whether you, the citizens, feel your police department should be accredited.

Once the on-site visit is completed, the assessment team confers, develops an on-site report, and meets at the ILACP- ILEAP Council meeting to discuss their findings. The Council votes to determine if our police agency has met the professional standards that form the esteemed title of accreditation. We thank you for your partnership and assistance.
