Today was beautiful. Today was community. Today was sisterhood.

We stepped into our community and experienced such a beautiful time with women. ❤️

Our outreach focused on personal hygiene—simple, practical things that can make a meaningful difference in a woman’s health, confidence, dignity, and everyday life.

But it became so much more than a lesson.

Women shared their experiences, asked questions, encouraged one another, worshipped, laughed, ate, drank, danced and connected. There was openness in the room and a beautiful freedom to learn from one another.

And above all, God’s presence was with us, reminding them of their worth.

From learning a skill in the classroom to using that skill to build a future, our Women are growing, working and creating opportunities for themselves and their families.

But our support does not end when training is complete.

we continue to visit the women that went through our program time after time to see how they are doing, encourage them in their work and walk alongside them as they grow.

Our women are back in the salon class—learning, practicing, growing, and preparing for a future they can build with their own hands. we believe that empowerment is more than giving someone an opportunity. It is walking alongside them as they discover what they are capable of.

Our hair dressing class didn’t stop with Martha— it created another teacher❤️

We invest in our women who go on to teach others, their impact multiplies beyond what you can see. Knowledge becomes legacy. Wisdom becomes a movement. Lives are transformed from one generation to the next.

Every student we empower has the potential to change countless more lives.

Joan successfully graduated from Heshima and is now employed in a hair salon!!She is now able to pay her rent, provide for herself, and is steadily supporting her family. Even more beautiful is the transformation in her heart—she has grown in her relationship with the Lord and continues to walk in faith.

Joan’s story reminds us that when women are empowered with skills, discipleship, and opportunity, lives are transformed for generations.

Ugandan authorities cut internet access and limited mobile services across the country on Tuesday, two days before an election in which President Yoweri Museveni will stand for a contentious seventh term after four decades in power.
