They care for the physical, psychological, and social trauma that occurs in patients who have been assaulted or abused. Forensic nurses also have a specialized knowledge of the legal system and collect evidence, provide medical testimony in court, and provide consultation to legal authorities. To get involved and be part of our exciting new chapter, please email me at [email protected]. We are proud to announce the rebirth of the Virginia Forensic Nursing Association. Less than a year after facing setbacks, we have successfully reestablished ourselves as a thriving community. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to our dedicated SANE/FNE Va Nurses who have made this achievement possible. Let’s Go Va!!
