Butterflies With Voices

The mission of Butterflies With Voices, Incorporated is to actively serve at risk youth through empowerment, knowledge, and sisterhood.

Butterflies With Voices was founded on seven visionaries: humbleness, faithfulness, self-awareness, loyalty, motivation, kindness and wisdom. Members will strive to unlock the hidden potential in young women who experience emotional or behavioral strife. Through our program futures will learn by participating in monthly lifeskill workshops and bonding activities. They will participate in a cultur

al educational festival and sisters closet. BWV will host an annual scholarship ball to highlight accomplishments and reward progress. Every member will partake in the Annual Convention

Most of our Dreams Over Drugs prevention workshops was all smiles with this terrific and motivated group of young ladies. Congratulations to our second class or in thier words it's the graduation for us!!! Another leadership class QPR informed and NARCAN trained! You go ladies.

Thank you to everyone who supported our annual Adopt A Classroom. Our VA President, OUTDID herself this year y'all! 88 culturally-relevant books were donated to Ms. Jarvis's class. Together, with our supporters we have emptied the shelves and will be supplying youth with books that have characters that look like them. We are so proud. This is true passion and dedication colliding.

Also, let's shout out for having books that "uplift and support [our] culture!" Make sure to check her out if you are in the area because she's already READY with more books.

🚨Adopt A Classroom Alert 🚨

The VA Chapter of Butterflies With Voices has collaborated with andadopted Ms. Jarvis’s 9-12th grade English classrooms!!

The best way to get her kids to buy into reading is to 1) give them access to books and 2) access to books with characters they can relate to!

So here is where you come in! The goal is 100 Young Adult books with Black + Brown main characters. Books can be new or used. Let’s build Ms. Jarvis’s classroom library and help set her kids up for an awesome literary experience.

Here’s how you can help:
💫 Donate a book you have that fits our goal
💫 Send me a monetary donation to purchase a book
💫 Purchase a book and send to (DM or email me for address)

Collections are taking place 8/20-9/20! I will be delivering the books to her classroom by 10/1!

🚨 Hey Richmond VA & surrounding areas! 🚨

If you know of any youth ages 12-18 interested in a drug prevention program this summer, have them email [email protected] ! This will take place every Wednesday starting 7/27 from 7-8:30pm. They will be QPR & Narcan trained. Will receive a swag bag + $100 stipend.
