It’s a day to move, revive and nourish your body, soul and spirit through fun sports like pickleball, basketball, co****le; plus a time of meditation, rest and music; plus art and good food. Our faith-based class today was on Grace and Addiction. My favorite part is watching participants come to the realization that God has been moving in their lives and speaking to them all along. What a beautiful moment to witness!

Participants from The War Foundation and McShin Foundation came together on Saturday for our monthly SlingShot! Mens Gathering for men in recovery. Men had the opportunity to fish, play corn hole and other outdoor activities. The participants expressed gratitude for experiencing something new like fishing, even though they didn’t catch more than some sticks, weeds and such. It was the fellowship, community-building and relationships with others in recovery and our volunteers and partners from Heights Church and Mercy Chefs that make all the difference! We look forward to welcoming our other RCO’s back next month and hope they had fun at the NA campout this past weekend! We missed y’all!

Oh my goodness! What a treat! Mercy Chefs created quite the feast for our neighbors in recovery! Then, Chef Jeremiah taught us how to make sheet pan fajitas, an easy dish for one or for the whole recovery house! Can’t wait to hear how it turns out at McShin Foundation and The War Foundation!!! Thanks Heights Church!!!

It is the practice of maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment through a gentle, nurturing, and non-judgmental lens.The core concept boils down to being actively present and observing experiences rather than reacting to them or getting lost in thought.
