We're just 3 weeks away from Lights On Afterschool Richmond, a fun-filled day to celebrate the power of afterschool programs.

This is a free event for youth of all ages and their families to connect with local afterschool programs. Food, drinks, games, dance and music performances, and activities are included at no cost.

Timeline of events:
💡 11 AM: Event begins with a musical performance and opening remarks
💡 12 – 1:30 PM: Community cookout accompanied by dance performances
💡 2 PM: Event wind-down

This event is supported by Dominion Energy, the City of Richmond’s Safer Communities Grant, Troutman Pepper Locke, NextUp, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond, Liberation Center, the YMCA of Greater Richmond, the Office of Community Wealth Building, and Higher Achievement Richmond.

Did you catch this heartwarming story of one of our members of the Liberation Family Resource Center. It's a great reminder of the impact Virginia FRCs have on the lives of individuals in our communities.

The team at Liberation Family Resource Center meets with this individual on a weekly basis, providing consistent support, encouragement, and a listening ear. Their dedication and care have made a meaningful difference in his life, and it's a beautiful example of the power of relationship-building and community connection.

This past Saturday we were in the community serving in partnership with Liberation Church! This is what we call a Block Party. We provide things like diapers, wipes, fresh produce, cleaning products, free bagged lunches and more!
