We look forward to seeing you this evening and next Wednesday for Youth and Children’s Group at 5:30pm! Then we will take a break for Mr. Brett and Ms. Amanda to have the baby and for the summer. Be on the lookout for summer activities and events!

The Children’s Group on Wednesday evenings have enjoyed their new study about Board Games and how they relate to different parts of the bible. The first three weeks of the study have included the games Chess, Chutes and Ladders, and Connect Four. Here is a summary of how all 3 games were connected to the Bible.

In the games of chess, every game piece has a role to play. Some pieces are more powerful than others, but they all must work together to win the game. Paul describes the church in a similar way. We are the body of Christ. Each of us is different, but we all have a part to play. We must learn to work together if we want to succeed. Our key passage was 1 Corinthians 12: 12-27 about being the body of Christ.

Everyone has ups and downs, but those ups and downs don’t always make sense. Sometimes good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people. This was connected to the game Chutes and Ladders. Joseph knew this all too well as he went from favored son to slave to prisoner. But he kept his faith, and God was faithful to him. God will carry us through the ups and downs as well, if we put our trust in him. Our key passage was Genesis 373: 17b - 35 where Joseph was sold into slavery.

In Connect Four the object of the game is to connect four game pieces in a row. God wants us to connect people to him. He’s counting on us to connect our families, our friends, and our world to Jesus. But we must also connect to him ourselves if we want Jesus to work through us and connect to others. Our key passage was John 1: 43-51 when Jesus calls Philip.

We are looking forward to some of the upcoming games including: Life, Sorry, and Trouble in the upcoming weeks!

February 18th - Ash Wednesday, No Group

March 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th - Group

We plan to have several events throughout the summer! Please watch for these dates to come out as events are planned

Hello everyone!! We hope you had a great holiday break. We are starting youth and childrens group back up this evening from 5:30 to 7:00pm. The youth group will be starting a series including team building activities related to scripture and virtues of the Bible. The childrens group will be starting a new series relating different board games to teach different lessons from the Bible.

Don’t forget that sign ups for winter jam are also going on until the last week of January! The sign up sheet will be available this evening.

Here are the dates for the spring.
January 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th
February 4th, 11th, and 25th (we encourage you to come on the 18th for Ash Wednesday Service)
March 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th
A reminder that things can change with the weather (if Richmond school is canceled so will we) and then also with me being pregnant, but we will always communicate that in multiple ways!

And last thing a new sign up sheet is available this evening for meal sign ups!

You are invited to a Halloween Family Night on October 29th at 5:30pm. We will be having chili and hot sandwiches for dinner. After dinner, we will be sharing in a festive night of Fall/Halloween Activities. You are invited to wear your Halloween Costumes! If you are willing to make a pot of chili or donate bread and/or sandwich meat and cheese please reach out to Amanda Myers. There is a sign up sheet in the back of the sanctuary, so we can have a head count for the event! Thank you! More information to come as the evening gets closer!

Youth and Children’s Group for this evening, September 24th, has been canceled. Brett and Amanda are both sick. We are really sorry to have to cancel and hope to see you October 8th at 5:30pm. As a reminder there was already no group scheduled for next week.

The Homecoming Parade is today! We will have a few chairs available, but you are invited to bring by your own as well! The parade begins at 2pm. The Myers family will be there a little before 1pm if you need anything.
