Trusted Doctors, UVA Health, and VCU Health are being recognized by the American Medical Association’s Joy in Medicine program with Bronze-level awards! The Virginia Task Force on Primary Care launched the Virginia Joy in Healthcare Collaborative to reduce organizational barriers to well-being and encourage collaboration among organizations to make the Commonwealth the best place to practice medicine. In Virginia, preventive care reimbursement in managed care was higher than in Medicaid fee-for-service, but rates remained below those paid by employer-sponsored insurance, Marketplace plans, and plans.

These findings indicate that payment differences across payers may continue to affect clinician participation and access to preventive care for Medicaid enrollees.
