Legalization belongs to us. And on Wednesday, Richmond proved it.

We filled Sound of Music, shared our stories, and signed The People’s Bill, not one written by a legislature, but one written by the community that survived the drug war and organized for years to get here.

Huge thanks to Lori Koch and The Homegrowers Club of Virginia, Sound of Music, Josh Rickey, 13 Plants, and Abuelita’s for helping make this night real. And to the CannaJustice Coalition, thank you for the years of work that got this legislation across the finish line.

To everyone who showed up: this is yours. The work isn’t finished, equity, licensing, and protecting small growers are still ahead, but we celebrate every win along the way.

That is false.

Under the current code language, no laws around distribution have changed as of July 1, and distribution remains illegal until the scheduled change next July.
