LIVE ART Program Goals:

1. *Provide performance based opportunities for select special-needs children.*
Special-needs students are often underserved within the performing arts. These students will be working alongside professional artists and students without special needs in a mentorship capacity to prepare for this performance in a series of classes that will be in session from October 2011– Ju

ne 2012.

2. *Enrich the empathy, experience and relationship skills of students without special needs.*
Students without special needs will be paired with special-needs students to mentor and work with these students through the rehearsal process and during the performance, in hopes of broadening their vision of inclusively and acceptance in the arts.

3. *Expand social awareness of the need for public support of the arts and special-needs students.*
Through the participation of widely recognized musicians, SPARC aims to engage a very broad audience base, especially including young adult citizens. Through the performance, SPARC will demonstrate the critical need for future support for the arts and for special-needs students in particular.

4. *Foster collaboration between local arts organizations to achieve an innovative performance experience.*
Collaboration will lead to innovation, thereby strengthening relationships and inspiring the community to create more opportunities for special-needs students in our area.
