We are a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit community development center with a mission to provide relief from the Shepherd's Way Relief Center, Inc. We are located at 400 E.

is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit community development center founded by members of Love of Christ Fellowship Ministries Church as a faith based outreach ministry. Shepherd's Way was incorporated in the state of Virginia on March 14, 2012 and received IRS tax exemption on August 31, 2012. Main St. at the corner of Main and 4th St. Our kitchen and dining room can seat approximately 100 people. Our clothe

s closet is also located within the building. Our inspiration for this ministry is found in Matt 25:34-40 and Prov 19:17. We look to provide both short term and long term assistance to the homeless and poor in our community. Our current services include:
1. Hygiene packs – we assemble and provide packages containing soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, etc. on an as needed basis
2. “Community Plate” – we prepare and serve a hot meal in our indoor dining hall weekly (Saturdays , but looking to expand)
3. Food pantry – we provide frozen, canned and dry goods, supermarket gift cards as needed and as available
4. Clothes closet – we receive donated men’s, women’s and children’s clothes and give them away as needed

We are looking to expand into the following areas:

5. Educational services (GED classes, life skills training, rights restoration, etc)
6. Job assistance/referral services
7. Housing assistance (Planned acquisition of a local property in 2014 to be used as a transitional home)

Planning for approximately 100 guests- outside near former Shepherd’s Way location.
We’d 🧡 your help! We have turkeys. We’ll need:
• mashed potatoes
• stuffing
• green beans
• cranberry sauce
• gravy
• dinner rolls
• pies
We’ll plan to serve in large foil trays/chafing dishes so we’d need food to arrive hot. Huge undertaking in a short timeframe but we can make it happen! Please comment or message if you can help. Monetary donations welcome through PayPal or ourshepherdsway.org. Thank you!

We miss you & we need you!

-After 10 years at our home on E. Main St., new building ownership has required us to find a NEW location to provide the meals and services so greatly needed by our community.

-We have found a suitable building nearby, but funding is needed for this acquisition project. Please consider making a one time or recurring donation to help us continue serving.

As we wind down the last few hours of this year, I’m taking a moment to simply say “Thank You” to everyone who has been a part of the journey and mission of Shepherds Way.

During an incredibly challenging year, I am so grateful to be able to say that we continued to provide services without interruption despite some very trying circumstances. This is due solely to the grace of God and the commitment of so many of you.

I’ll follow up next week with a year in review detailing all the numbers and statistics, but for now I just want to offer my gratitude on behalf of the organization. Thank you to our staff, volunteers, and churches who show up day after day, week after week, “to love our neighbors as ourselves.“ They cooked, cleaned, shopped, organized, smoked turkeys (thanks, Mike!), and served thousands with a smile and a heart filled with compassion.

Thank you to everyone of you who contributed financially to our mission. From wonderful corporations like Altria, Truist, Chick-fil-A, Mosquito Squad and others, to individuals who poured out of their own households, you all gave selflessly in an effort to bless someone else. You truly demonstrate the Lords teaching that it is “more blessed to give than to receive.“

Finally, I thank all of you for your personal support and prayers for my family during this year. It has been a year of recovery and rebuilding, and your presence was felt each day. I’ll never forget that.

May God bless you all, prosper you greatly, and add his peace and joy to your lives in abundance throughout 2022!
