This was sent by the VP on DLA Council 169 who represents DLA Weapon Support. Please note: Our local is proud to represent DLA Police & Fire so we do fall under the exclusion. President Montague is working with Council 169 President to determine how the latest HR Bulletin will impact our local. Please stay the course & stand with us. We will be sending emails & texts with any new updates.
“Good evening, Brothers & Sisters,
I want to take a moment to share important information that was relayed from DLA Headquarters following a recent briefing between AFGE leadership and DLA J1 regarding the Agency’s intent to terminate ALL union collective bargaining agreements.
This is not speculation, this is real, and it is already in motion.
Key takeaways include:
Employees may soon see changes to their SF-50 removing bargaining unit status.
Union office spaces may be vacated soon (for locations without police/fire personnel).
Official time for union representatives is expected to be eliminated at most locations.
The Master Labor Agreement (MLA) will no longer function as a living agreement.
While DPMAP is unaffected for now, broader workforce protections are at risk.
Let me be clear: AFGE warned this was coming.
We are now at a critical moment.
This is an uphill battle, and the outcome will depend on us, the federal workforce. If we do not stand together, stay engaged, and strengthen our membership, we stand to lose not just representation but the protections, rights, and voice that come with it.
AFGE is still here, and we are not backing down.
But we cannot do this alone.
Now more than ever, we need every eligible employee to:
Join the union
Stay active and informed
Encourage your coworkers to sign up
Support AFGE events and initiatives
Our strength has always been in our unity. The Agency is watching our numbers. The FLRA will be watching our numbers. This will determine whether we maintain our certification and our ability to represent you moving forward.
This is the time to decide:
Will we stand together or allow our rights to be stripped away?
We must organize. We must mobilize. And we must fight.”
