Love this organization! ❤️ I have family who grew up in Hillside & my grandparents lived not far from there on Drewry Street. Nice when we can give back…we weren’t expecting a shout out, but it is always great to have a group that we can partner with on events. My apologies that we didn’t have time to get anything out to the membership to volunteer, but hopefully next year we can do this. Who are we? AFGE!

Update: This new article links to the July 20th court filing seeking an injunction for actions taken against our local unions across the Department. Council 169 (our Agency’s Council for AFGE) is one of the parties who joined in this legal action. Read the full article & click the hyperlink on the filing for details. Three weeks after filing a lawsuit challenging the termination of their contracts, more than 20 union affiliates from AFGE and (NFFE-IAM are asking the court to block implementation of the illegal action.

AFGE Council 169 (DLA Council) joined this action & this is now in the courts. Follow AFGE page, website & check your e-mails to stay informed on what is being done at a national level to combat the attacks on our Union. Now is not the time to drop out; this is the time to stand in unity.

More than 20 union affiliates from AFGE and the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE-IAM) sued the Department of Defense and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth last week challenging the unlawful termination of union contracts covering tens of thousands of DoD civilian employees.

Just wanted to share that we are still around & working hard behind the scenes. We have been going through our records to ensure all cases beyond retention limits are disintegrated/destroyed & anything we need for permanent records are boxed, sealed & safely stored. Yes, records management is a thing for AFGE Local 1992 as well. Also, working to go through our event/entertainment items to store in our local office for now (Building 66). Always trying to stay ready, so we don’t have to get ready… Keep checking your phones & personal emails for messages from our local President, Quinton Montague, Jr. Karalynne Warlick (our National Representative from District 4) has been sending out a lot of messages for us as well, so please make sure none of these are going to your spam folder. (See last photo for example of latest email you should have received…if you are still a member.).
