P.O.

Membership consists of women, ages 21 and older, who work, reside or own property in the Museum District. Our current members range from women in their twenties to grandmothers. Please see more details on our membership page. We welcome all women and encourage diversity in our membership. Members join together on the third Wednesday of each month. Each monthly meeting features a guest speaker on a

specific topic or theme, and also has plenty of time for catching up, meeting new people and learning something new. We invite you to join us and see what we are all about! Some members have taken on causes with special meaning to them including John B. Cary Elementary School, Family Lifeline, the Belmont Public Library, and Gateway to the Museum District. While the MDWC encourages volunteering, it is not a requirement of membership. We invite new ideas and causes that are important to you! Box 7292

Our first annual Woman’s Club art show was a huge success! We have so many amazing, talented women as neighbors. It was such a treat to see the product of lots of hard work being shared with a supportive group.

We are planning on doing this again, so if you missed out this time, there’s always next year!

Huge thanks to the Abby for allowing us to use an empty unit for our meeting!

It was so wonderful to see so many people come out in the rain to our 2/18 meeting at Cristo Rey. We learned a lot about the school and its model, how it's set up to provide students of limited financial means with a small-class size education, and how they foster real-world preparation through its corporate work study experience where for one day out of the week students don't go to class and instead intern somewhere around town, including places like Dominion Energy, Bon Secours, The Valentine, and the VMFA. We learned that this year's graduating class had a 100% acceptance rate for college applications, and we even met three graduating seniors, two of whom are bright and vibrant young ladies committed to VCU and Hollins, and one of whom, an also bright and vibrant young man, who was still deciding where he will go (but he knew he wanted to study accounting!).

The biggest announcement we had for this meeting, for those who couldn't join us, is that starting this year, the Museum District Woman's Club is sponsoring a $500 scholarship to be awarded to one graduating female/female-identifying student at Cristo Rey!
