At RITS, we prioritize exposing students to the tools shaping today’s engineering and technology landscape.

As part of our 2026 AI Summer Camp, students will explore Lovable AI — a platform that enables rapid prototyping and AI-assisted development. Through guided instruction, students translate ideas into functional prototypes, learn how AI-assisted development works, and evaluate outputs critically.

This aligns with our broader mission: hands-on AI education, ethical literacy, and real project outcomes — all hosted at the VCU College of Engineering.

In today’s world, AI literacy is becoming foundational. But true understanding comes from building — not just observing.

At RITS AI Summer Camp (July 20–24, 2026), students ages 13+ spend a week immersed in hands-on AI learning at VCU’s College of Engineering. They work with real tools, explore computer vision and coding applications, and build projects they can confidently explain and present.

The result isn’t just technical exposure — it’s growth in problem-solving, independence, and confidence. Hosted in a university engineering environment and guided by experienced mentors, this program helps students see what’s possible for their future in STEM.

From July 20–24, 2026, RITS AI Summer Camp at VCU’s College of Engineering gives students ages 13+ a full week of hands-on exploration in artificial intelligence, computer vision, biomedical applications, and more . They won’t just learn about AI—they’ll build real projects, collaborate with motivated peers, and present what they’ve created with confidence.

What does modern computer science look like for today’s teens?

At RITS AI Summer Camp, students in our CS & Vibe Coding track learn how to transform ideas into interactive, usable projects — using both foundational computer science principles and emerging generative AI tools.

Hosted at the VCU College of Engineering (July 20–24, 2026), this one-week, full-day experience helps students build functional, responsive digital projects, understand how AI assists developers, practice iteration, debugging, and problem-solving, and present a final project demonstrating what they’ve built.

We emphasize responsible use, clarity of thinking, and real project outcomes — not passive tech consumption. Students leave with tangible work, stronger technical confidence, and a clearer understanding of how AI is shaping engineering and software careers.

In our Computer Vision track at RITS AI Summer Camp 2026, students don’t just talk about artificial intelligence—they build it.

Teens (ages 13+) learn how computers recognize objects, classify images, and interpret visual data using real datasets and hands-on tools. From detecting cars in city streets to understanding how cameras interact with AI systems, students build projects they can demo with confidence.

This is one of three focused tracks at RITS, designed to turn curiosity into capability. Give your teen a week that expands how they see the world—and how they see themselves.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to see us at the Richmond Family Magazine Summer Camp Expo!

We loved meeting so many curious students, thoughtful parents, and dedicated educators who are thinking intentionally about how their teens spend the summer. Conversations about AI, engineering, and future opportunities are exactly why we do this work.

RITS AI Summer Camp 2026 will be hosted at VCU College of Engineering from July 20–24. Students ages 13+ spend the week building real AI projects, exploring computer vision, coding foundations, biomedical and sports science applications, and learning how to use technology responsibly. The week ends with a final project presentation they can proudly share.

If we met you at the Expo and you’re still considering summer plans, we’d love to welcome your student. And if you couldn’t attend but want to learn more, registration is open.

What if your teen could explore how the body moves—and how to make it stronger using AI?

In our Biomedical Sports Science track at RITS AI Summer Camp 2026, students step into the world where biology meets engineering. They examine how AI is used in athletic performance and rehabilitation, explore exoskeleton design concepts, and analyze real performance data to understand human movement in a new way.

Hosted July 20–24, 2026 at VCU College of Engineering, this hands-on experience helps students connect lab concepts to real athletic training while building confidence through meaningful projects. It’s one of three focused tracks designed for curious students ages 13 and up.
