Running into Daniel Barth while Ramon Anibal and I were at Kaiser brought back a powerful wave of memories. Seeing him still out there doing the hard, essential work with Richmond was such an inspiring full-circle moment.
Back when we led Collaborising in Richmond, we often spoke about the stark reality of living between "tents and Teslas." Fighting for limited resources in the field can bring real tension, but time and distance have a way of clearing the noise. Now living in Mazatlán, Ramon and I look back with immense gratitude for those still in the trenches.
To Daniel and everyone continuing the fight for our unhoused neighbors: thank you for your relentless heart and dedication.

𝗨𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗘𝗗

Our friend Natasha is facing a 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲-𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗹á𝗻 and needs an immediate flight to the US by Saturday for specialized care.

She has a severe infection surrounding her implanted spinal cord stimulator that has caused painful swelling across her lower back, right side, and armpit. The local hospital in Mazatlán is unable to treat this complex issue, and an infected device carries 𝗮 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝘀𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲-𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀.

We were lucky enough to fly Starlux on our Asia tour, taking a 4-hour flight from Taipei to Tokyo. Lea flew in Premium Economy while I was in Economy, and we booked both seats using Atmos points.

Lea's seat cost just $29 + 15,000 points, and mine was only $29 + 7,500 points. The seat you're seeing in this video normally sells for around $3,500! 🤯

Lea's seat was definitely a step above—she said it felt like sitting in a La-Z-Boy! But honestly, I was impressed with Economy too. My seat was comfortable, had more recline than I'm used to, and I actually had to bring it back up a bit.

Not having the visa cost us $600… CASH, and honestly, that one was on me. (The visa cost $25 USD for a single-entry visa when applied for in advance)

Completely my fault.

Hard lesson learned.

Then the hotel we booked in Old Quarter was absolutely not what was advertised online. Sometimes pictures really do tell a different story.

So we told the hotel we’d stay the night and asked if we could cancel the rest of the reservation afterward.

They told us if we wanted a full refund, we had to leave immediately… at 10:30 PM.

So we left.

No arguing.
No back and forth.
No stress.

We grabbed our bags, stepped out into the Hanoi night, and found a Hilton Hanoi Opera near Hanoi Station.

After two room upgrades, being exhausted, frustrated, overstimulated, and trying to figure everything out in a completely different country… we somehow ended up in the biggest room the hotel had available.

And the second we walked in, it honestly felt like we could finally breathe again.

This is the view we’ll wake up to for the next 4 days.

Now I can slow down, sip some tea, look out over Hanoi from the 18th floor, and finally just take it all in.

And honestly, travel isn’t always perfect.

Flights get delayed.
Mistakes get made.
Reservations get messed up.
You get things wrong.
You get humbled.

But sometimes getting things completely "Tucked-Up" gives you a deeper appreciation for when things actually go right.

Comfort feels different after chaos.
Peace feels different after stress.
And a simple quiet moment with a cup of tea can suddenly feel like luxury.

The best investment we ever made was walking away to find our lives. After years of serving unhoused communities in Richmond, CA, we reached a point of profound exhaustion—the kind where the soul is bone-dry and the usual support systems aren’t enough to fill it back up. We chose to give up our city contracts and move to Mexico because we realized that feeding your soul isn’t a luxury; it is the fundamental requirement for doing your best work possible. I write this as we embark on our six week 9 country Asia tour that ends in June. God is good!

From time to time we like to reach back into the past. Between 2021 and 2023, we served in the East Bay, working closely with an encampment in Richmond, CA to support individuals experiencing homelessness as they moved toward stability and housing. We focused on real-life skills—advocacy, navigating systems, and rebuilding—not just survival. When the city shut down the encampment, we helped 85% of residents transition into housing, showing up daily for 37 straight days to ensure no one was left behind.
Recently, we experienced a full-circle moment when Ramon saw Angela Snowden, once part of that encampment, now thriving—working, stable, and rebuilding her life with intention. Moments like this remind us that the work matters, people matter, and transformation is real. We honor her strength, consistency, and commitment to growth.

Allow us to reintroduce ourselves. Collaborising was born on the front lines—walking alongside unhoused communities with advocacy, case management, and unwavering compassion—and that DNA still lives in us. But something deeper began to unfold. We discovered that restoration is not just about meeting immediate needs, but about creating lasting transformation from the inside out. Today, we create environments for deep rest and renewal, equip people with strategic access to travel and opportunity, and offer Spirit-led guidance for inner healing and alignment with God’s purpose. This is not a departure—it’s an expansion into a fuller expression of restoration.
