We are saddened by the news of Dolly Parton. We will always remember the impact and kindness she shared with the community and those around her.

Today, we join millions around the world and especially those of us in East Tennessee in mourning the loss of Dolly Parton.

A proud daughter of Sevier County, Tennessee, Dolly never forgot her roots. The Salvation Army was honored to welcome her as the featured performer at the National Red Kettle Kickoff during the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game in 2023, and we remain grateful for her extraordinary generosity, including a $1 million gift to support our mission.

Her life reflected the spirit of Proverbs 11:25:"A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed." Through her kindness, compassion, and servant's heart, Dolly touched countless lives and leaves behind a legacy that will endure for generations.

Our prayers are with her family, friends, and all who loved her.

What an incredible Stuff the Bus season.

Together, we collected 3,633 school supplies during the event—and with additional donations and items from our Angel Tree room, we supplied 12,887 more to schools throughout our service area.

That’s 16,520 total items supporting students across 9 counties.
