πΆβ€οΈ What an incredible afternoon with the Old Dominion Honor Flight gathering! Four members of the Greater Richmond Chorus β along with some of our beloved emeritus members β had the privilege of leading a sing-along to honor the veterans who participated in the last honor flight, the families who love them, and the volunteers who make it all possible. The stories shared in that room were nothing short of moving.
All gave some. Some gave all.
On the video, you may only hear our voices β but trust us, the whole room was singing. π
We also want to take a moment for some very special shout-outs:
π Lou Wilson β our emeritus memberβs beloved husband, who left us 11 years ago today. Lou proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. We sang with you in our hearts today, Lou.
π Craig Odell β partner to one of our members who was right there singing alongside us β also served in the U.S. Navy for 20+ years. Thank you for your dedication and service, Craig.
π Al Herron β father-in-law to another one of our participating members β served in the U.S. Air Force for four years during the Korean War and was a participant in the last honor flight himself. What a legacy.
It was our absolute honor to lift our voices for these veterans, their families, and the first responders who were gathered in that room. Days like today remind us exactly why we sing. π΅πΊπΈ
