All, wanted to let you all know that my plan is to close out this campaign for Mary on this Sunday the 25th. I think we have had a pretty good turnout of donors and wish to thank everyone involved whether you were able to donate, spread the word to others, say a prayer or all three of these. Thank you notes will go out after Sunday.
So there is still some time left if you've been thinking about it and just never gotten around to it. Plus feel free to share the link to others on your socials. Thanks again to all for your compassion.

Theatre Community Folks,

As I've read your posts regarding the Dell musical, and the schedule in general, I'd like to share the following….

First, thank you for your continued passion, support, and dedication toward the Festival of Arts. Even a pandemic couldn't take us out, and we're approaching our 70th anniversary due to people like you! This whole debacle is due to some ill-considered staffing rearrangements made shortly after I left, one of which was to move Dogwood Dell out of Cultural Arts and into Special Events. The people who made these decisions should be held accountable -- not the new hire who's been thrown into a job with no training and inadequate supervision.

I encourage you to continue your efforts to make the City aware of how much the Dell is valued. You have some really strong tools at your disposal, especially those of you who live in Richmond City -- you pay taxes and you vote. Please include Stephanie Lynch; who is the council person in the district where the Dell is located and Traci Deshazior; who is the DCAO for Human Services who has jurisdiction over the Dell, in your efforts along with your local council person. In no way does this diminish the importance of those of you who don't live in the immediate City! Your voices are needed just as much, and you can also go to these officials with your concerns.

On a positive note, it appears your voices are being heard, so keep those cards and letters (or phone calls and emails) going! I believe a season, and even a musical, may be possible with the right guidance, and support from the City. And again, please know how much I appreciate your efforts on behalf of this treasure that opens these valuable arts experiences to everyone.

Barbara
