💰 Building Financial Freedom, One Class at a Time.

Last night, we had another impactful Financial Literacy Class filled with practical tools, meaningful conversations, and strategies to help participants take control of their financial future.

At Help Me Help You Foundation, we believe financial education is a pathway to stability, opportunity, and long-term success. Thank you to everyone who joined us and took another step toward building generational wealth and financial independence.

Today we celebrate Lashawnda Singleton Shanell Singleton, Case Manager at Help Me Help You Foundation, who continues to pour into the next generation of social workers, leaders, advocates, and change agents through her work at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Lashawnda is not just teaching from a textbook, she’s bringing students directly into the community to see real people, real systems, and real solutions in action. Through her work with HMHY and her commitment to service-learning, students are gaining firsthand experience in empathy, communication, justice, and community engagement.

We are proud that HMHY is part of that learning experience and proud to have Lashawnda helping shape future leaders who understand that true social work starts with compassion, connection, and meeting people where they are.

The work matters. The exposure matters. The mentorship matters. And Lashawnda is making a difference every single day. 💜

Today we celebrate resilience, redemption, purpose, and the power of turning pain into purpose. ❤️

We are incredibly proud of Candace Wiliams, a valued member of the Help Me Help You Foundation family, for sharing her powerful story and the vision behind her project, Mending Hearts. After serving 16 years incarcerated, Candace is now helping mothers and families stay connected through one of the hardest journeys imaginable. Her work reminds us that healing, restoration, and second chances are possible.

What started behind prison walls is now becoming a movement to support incarcerated mothers and strengthen family bonds during incarceration and reentry. Candace’s courage, transparency, and commitment to helping others is exactly the kind of leadership our communities need.

Your story matters. Your purpose matters. And your past does not define your future.

We are honored to stand beside you as you continue changing lives and helping families mend hearts one connection at a time. 💜

We’re proud to see our LEE Supervisor, Shakil Ali, joining this important panel conversation on reentry and what liberation truly looks like after incarceration.
