Rider Alert

Rider Alert A decal affixes to the outside of the helmet displaying the 'EMS Star of Life' logo and the words "do not remove helmet'.

Rider Alert provides free identification data cards that will help first responders provide rapid and accurate medical assistance to motorcyclists involved in serious accidents. Rider Alert is a motorcycle safety program that provides waterproof cards that fit inside a riders helmet containing key information a paramedic would need when treating a rider after an 'unscheduled dismount'. The words a

re to advise bystanders not to take the helmet off as this is a skilled Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) procedure. This program is free to the rider, no pre registration, no lodging of data any where, just key information in the right place when the rider and the medic needs it most. From a Medics point of view it helps us to help you. This program was started by the Richmond Ambulance Authority and Bon Secours Virginia Health System in partnership with Motorcycle Virginia! and is the first of its kind in the United States. Rider Alert is expanding rapidly across the US, with New York being the second state to launch the program. The Virginia Rider Alert Team is also assisting organizations from Delaware, Texas and Kentucky in developing the program.

Last week Rider Alert took part in the National Association of State Motorcycle Safety Administrators training summit in Sacramento, California!

The conference featured motorcycle safety programs from across the country.

It was an amazing opportunity to talk about the program and promote motorcycle safety.

The picture includes our Project Director, Michelle and a Founder of the Crash Card Jesper Christianson.

a reminder from the good folks @ West Midlands Ambulance Service...

Going out on your motorbike in shorts, t-shirt and flip flops seem like a good idea in this lovely weather? Imagine what would happen if you come off - life changing injuries at Best. It may be hot, but it’s not worth the risk. Our staff reported far too many riders putting themselves at risk yesterday. As tweeted earlier: “dress for the slide, not the ride”. 🏍👍🏽🛵

Yesterday was full of sun and set up at VIRginia International Raceway as MotoAmerica got underway with MotoAmerica Championship of Virginia. Representatives from Rider Alert will be at the event all weekend for you to get information on our program. We will be around the "Bike Corral" for opening ceremonies this morning. If you see us, stop us and ask us how you can help spread the word about the Rider Alert Program, as May IS Motorcycle Safety Awareness month.
