Calling all Camp Wiyaka friends and family 💙🌲
We’re looking for volunteers to help us get camp ready, and we would love your support! These projects will make a difference not just for this summer, but for generations of campers to come.
Our biggest focus is trail maintenance. The trail to the Point is looking great thanks to past volunteers, and now we’re hoping to extend it all the way to the Chapel 🙌
We also have a few projects that need some extra love:
The nurse’s cabin needs some scraping and fresh paint where the sun has worn it down 🎨
The red bridge could use a fresh coat of paint too
This is a perfect chance to make it a fun family day, bring some friends, and spend time at camp while giving back. There’s nothing better than making memories in a place that means so much ❤️

Today we’re reminiscing about one of the best parts of camp, a full campfire circle.🔥 This week’s memory takes us back to 2016 with photos from closing campfire during Boys Week. There’s nothing better than everyone gathered around the fire singing songs, laughing, and of course doing the Goony Bird together 🐦🎶

Moments like these are what make camp so special, and we can’t wait to be back at camp this summer making more memories together! 🌲⛺✨

Only 11 weeks until we’re back at Sandy Pond, living our best camp lives and making unforgettable memories! 🏕️☀️

This week’s memory takes us back to Build-a-Boat in 2022. One of the most chaotic, creative, and hilarious all-camp activities of the summer. Campers teamed up with their tent mates to design and build a boat using whatever materials they could get their hands on. The catch? Their counselor had to actually race it from the dock all the way to shore. 🚣‍♀️

As soon as the races started, the fence was packed with campers cheering, shouting, and laughing loud enough to echo across the lake. Some boats glided surprisingly well… others, well… let’s just say they made a very dramatic and immediate return to the dock. 🌊😅

And according to a little birdie from that year, we learned an important lesson: wooden pallets do not make a very good boat.

We can’t wait to see what creative (and questionable) boat designs show up this summer. Only 11 more weeks until Sandy Pond is full of camp spirit again!

The 2026 Wiyaka Phonathon is tonight and tomorrow.

Wiyaka volunteers and staff will be calling past donors to pledge this year! We have a lot of projects to work on, including new doors for the Directors Cabin, painting, tent platform upgrades and more!

What an AMAZING River Rat Day for Camp Wiyaka! 🛶🎉

We started the day marching in the parade, and it was so much fun seeing so many friendly faces cheering us on. Thank you to everyone who came out to support us! A huge shoutout to Dahlia for marching with us, we loved having you as part of the crew!

In the afternoon, Tighe and Erin took on the River Rat Race in a Wiyakan canoe. Their number one goal for the day? Stay dry! And they nailed it (we like to think our canoes deserve a little credit for that 😉). A big thank you as well to Dmitriy, who was an incredible help at the start of the race and carried the canoe with us from the YCC.

River Rat is THIS Saturday and we couldn’t be more excited! 🛶🎉

Camp Wiyaka will be marching in the parade, and we’d love for our camp families to join us! Come march with us, show your camp spirit, and help make it a fun morning for everyone. If marching isn’t your thing, come cheer us on along the route!

We also have something extra exciting this year, our staff members Erin and Tighe will be racing in the canoe race in a Camp Wiyaka canoe! Make sure to stick around and cheer them on when the race kicks off at 1:00 PM.

The parade begins at 9:30 AM, and we’ll be meeting on School Street at 9:00 AM to line up.

We can’t wait to see lots of our Camp Wiyaka families there celebrating together! 🎉
