BOOTS & SADDLES
The leaders for Boots & Saddles are Britney Brandt & Allison King. We meet on Sunday during the winter months and then on Wednesdays when we can start riding at the fairgrounds. We are a small club so we can offer more one on one instruction. We have kids that do western, English, trail, western riding and reining. We do bake sales for our fund raisers. We encourage our kids to have fun and try everything at the fair. Contact:

ROUGH RIDERS
In January and February we have meetings on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at New Testament Church of Christ in Hagerstown. We meet every Wednesday at 6:00 pm starting in March. The meetings are held at the arena in Cambridge City weather permitting. Our members have been primarily focused on trail and contesting in the past few years. However, we also stress the fundamentals of showmanship and horsemanship. We have our members actively participate in the meetings and we have become more like family. The members have been very helpful to new club members and make them feel like they are a part of the group and give encouragement to try new events. The club had a trail ride at Whitewater State park this year and hope to make this an annual event. We welcome any new families who would like to become a part of the great group of members and parents. Leaders: Abby Lochotzki and Bruce Lochotzki

COLOR GUARD
This Club is a specialty club designed to enhance your team riding skills. We ride together and work as a team, “drill team” style expressing patriotism and pride for our county, state, and country by presenting the colors and performing pattern routines in sync to music. Through Color Guard, each member gains more horsemanship (such as how to control and maneuver their horses in close range of other mounted riders), team work skills (such as how to work together with the team and the importance of your part in the pattern), and how to execute many different maneuvers at several different speeds within our patterns. Color Guard is exciting and a ton of fun! Leaders -

What a great night for our trail clinic. The kids learned how to manuever through different obstacles with their horses and realized it’s a lot harder than it looks. One of the most important things learned was to be patient and let your horse process what is being asked of them. Thanks to all the 4-H volunteer leaders who helped set the course and instruct!!
