Congratulations to our DAISY Award honoree, Dianna from our Hematology Oncology CHOR Pavilion Clinic!

For the past three years, Dianna has cared for one young pediatric oncology patient and her family through some of their most challenging moments. Her compassion has extended far beyond clinical care, from providing comfort during port accesses and sick visits to coloring pictures, painting rocks, having little concerts and always choosing the perfect Band-Aid.

Her nominator shared, “She isn’t simply a nurse to us, she is family. The smallest, everyday things for Dianna were truly the biggest things to us.”

Dianna, thank you for bringing comfort, joy and a sense of normalcy to a family when they needed it most.

For this , we’re celebrating the incredible team from Dialysis for taking home the win in our Week of the Nurse Unit Decorating Contest!

Centered around the theme “Nurses: The Heart of Healthcare,” the team showcased outstanding creativity, teamwork, and nursing pride through their thoughtful decorations. Their unit decor brought their team spirit to life in a truly memorable way.

As the winning team, they chose to create Nurse Survival Kits to help keep them energized and appreciated throughout their busy days.

Congratulations to our Dialysis team on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you again to all the units, clinics, and teams that participated and helped make Week of the Nurse such a special celebration of nursing excellence!

Kimberly’s nomination highlights the extraordinary vigilance, critical thinking, and compassion that define nursing excellence. When she noticed a locked bathroom door and received no response, she trusted her instincts and took action. Her quick assessment led to the discovery of an unresponsive patient, allowing lifesaving interventions to begin immediately. Thanks to her initiative and determination, the patient ultimately had a positive outcome.

Part of Linda's nomination read: "I will never forget watching Linda care for my mom. She was relatively new to nursing, yet she demonstrated a level of clinical judgment, composure, compassion, and attention to detail that I have seen in nurses with decades of experience. More importantly, she demonstrated what nursing is supposed to be. Linda cared for my mom as if she were someone who could hear every word, feel every touch, and understand every act of kindness. And whether my mom could respond or not, I believe she deserved every bit of that dignity. I am forever grateful to Linda, not only for the excellent nursing care she provided to my mom, but for the care she provided to our entire family during one of the hardest days of our lives.
