We were proud to present today at the Catholic Charities USA Annual Gathering here in Richmond! J. Daniel Bickett, our Director of Immigration Legal Services & Strategic Initiatives and a DOJ fully accredited representative, joined Tania Guerrero of Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC) for “Powering the Field: Tools and Strategies for the Immigration Removal Defense Community.”
The session explored CLINIC’s Removal Defense Initiative as a model for building capacity through peer learning. Daniel shared what it has meant for our program: in a fast-changing legal landscape, practitioners need more than trainings. They need each other, especially colleagues who practice before the same courts.

¡Hoy nos sentimos orgullosos de haber participado en el Encuentro Anual de Catholic Charities USA aquí en Richmond! J. Daniel Bickett, nuestro Director de Servicios Legales de Inmigración e Iniciativas Estratégicas y representante plenamente acreditado por el Departamento de Justicia (DOJ), participó junto a Tania Guerrero de Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC) en la sesión “Fortaleciendo el sector: herramientas y estrategias para la comunidad de defensa contra la deportación”.
La sesión exploró la Iniciativa de Defensa contra la Deportación de CLINIC como modelo para fortalecer las capacidades, a través del aprendizaje entre colegas. Daniel compartió lo que esta iniciativa ha significado para nuestro programa: en un panorama legal que cambia rápidamente, los profesionales necesitan más que capacitaciones. Necesitan apoyarse mutuamente, especialmente a través de colegas que trabajan ante los mismos tribunales.
