We loved reading your memories from the Richmond Rose Festival after our last post! Hearing from so many of you reminded us why this work matters.

As we look toward the future of Downtown, we want to carry the same magic of the Rose Festival forward into this new season. But to do that, we need your imagination.

As communities across Wayne County recover from severe flooding, the Wayne County Foundation, in coordinated efforts with local communities and county stakeholders, is helping direct financial support to those impacted.

Donations to the Wayne County Cares Fund will be distributed directly to communities affected by the flooding. Donations are being accepted online, in person at the Foundation office or by mail.

The Director of Small Business Success leads Main Street Richmond’s small business support system designed to help entrepreneurs and small business owners launch, locate, grow, and sustain successful businesses in Downtown Richmond and the Depot District.

Chalkfest is FREE to enter and includes free chalk for all participants, with each division winner receiving a cash prize, along with a prize for Best in Show! The mystery theme will be announced on the day of the event with sign-ups being available on a first come, first serve basis. Registration will run from 9:00am-9:30am.

Artwork must be completed by 11:30am for judging with the winners announced at Noon.

DATE: Saturday, September 5, 2026
LOCATION: Jack Elstro Plaza
TIME: Registration starts at 9:00am. Artwork must be completed between 9:30am-11:30am. Awards announced at Noon.
