Providing new books to children in need. Volunteers on our Board include individuals from a wide cross-section of our community.

First Book-Greater Richmond is an all-volunteer local Advisory Board established to serve children in the greater Richmond metropolitan area. Our primary goal is to work with existing literacy programs in the Richmond metropolitan area to provide a steady stream of age-appropriate books to children who, for economic reasons, have little or no access to books. We work to provide six to twelve books

to the same child within the same year. This helps them to establish libraries in their homes, as opposed to a one-time donation of a book. This is what sets First Book apart from other organizations and helps children develop a love for reading. We focus on children at the preschool, elementary school, and middle school levels and provide them with brand-new, high-quality books. Thank you to The Glass Spot for partnering with us last night so we can make beautiful ornaments while raising money and awareness! Your staff was amazing and the 67 books we're able to donate to children in the area from your donation goes a long way. We will definitely be back!!! Another successful year!! A giant THANK YOU to all of our players, sponsors and volunteers to help make this an incredible event and for supporting our cause! We couldnt do it without you! Congratulations to all of our winners!! There was even a hole in one today-- amazing! Our 1st place winners and our 50/50 raffle winner...donated their winnings back to the cause 🎉 Thank you for your generosity! We hope to see you all again next year! 😁
