90 seconds with Richmond firefighters. This morning just before 2:45am, our members were sent to the 400 block of S. 16th st for a structure fire. E67 arrived first at scene to find a 2 story vacant apartment with multiple units well involved with fire. With the work of additional arriving resources, the flames were brought under control within 20 min. The building sustained significant damage, but no injuries were reported. Richmond firefighters are working hard to save our city.

Today marks the start of the Richmond Fire Recruit Academy 26–1.

As with every academy, these recruits will be trained to the highest standard to protect the City of Richmond.

We’d like to put the spotlight on three of our members who are dedicating the next couple months of their lives to training the next generation of firefighters. The work behind the scenes is endless and often unseen by those who haven’t been through it.

The benefits of their tireless work will show in the service we provide to the citizens of Richmond.

Thank you to the three members hosting this academy—spending time away from their families to ensure that yours are safe.

ENDORSED BY RICHMOND FIREFIGHTERS LOCAL 188 🚒

Claudia Jimenez — Mayor
Doria Robinson — District 3
Soheila Bana — District 4
Cesar Zepeda — District 2

We don’t make endorsements based on promises,we make them based on performance.

As firefighters, we’re on the front lines every day. We see the real impact of leadership decisions on public safety, emergency response, and the people of Richmond. These candidates have a proven track record of standing with first responders and supporting the resources our city depends on.

They’ve shown up. They’ve done the work. And when it matters most—they’ve had our backs.

That’s why we’re standing with them.

Richmond deserves leadership that takes public safety seriously. We’re backing candidates who are ready to lead—not learn on the job.

57 seconds. From engine airbrake set to hose line deployed, masked up and ready to fight fire. That’s all the time it took for one of your Richmond firefighters to single handedly perform during a recent real life scenario where seconds count. The fire was relatively small and easily contained to the engine compartment of the car. This just demonstrates the commitment of our members to serving you no matter how big the emergency.

Minutes later E66 arrived at scene to find smoke and flames coming from a 2nd floor apartment. Without hesitation and the work of additional arriving members, the fire was extinguished within 10 min and contained to the single unit. No injuries were reported.

The dedication in service of your Richmond firefighters can never be questioned. We’re proud to serve our community.

The members from Station 68 had a busy Saturday evening and early Sunday morning this past weekend. Just before 8:30pm Saturday T68, E67, R67 and T64 were sent to the area of Hilltop Dr. near Hillview Dr. for a 3 vehicle accident requiring one victim to be extricated. The most serious of the 5 patients was flown to a local trauma center. Then just after 3:30am Sunday morning, the same crew was sent to I-80 near Hilltop Dr. for a vehicle that rear ended a box truck at high speed. The vehicle sustained impressive damage, but luckily the single occupant only had moderate injuries. Richmond firefighters are working all day and all night to keep our community safe.
