Meet your Council President!
Phillip Blankenship has served in Scouting America since 2007, beginning as a Tiger Den Leader after his son, James, volunteered him for the role. He has since served in numerous leadership positions, including Cubmaster and Scoutmaster
A participate and Course Director of Wood Badge, Phil has also staffed National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) in multiple roles. He helped start several Scouting units in Madison County, expanding opportunities for youth across the community.
Phil has served the council as Popcorn Committee Chair, Board Member, and Vice President of Membership. He was honored with the District Award of Merit, Silver Beaver Award, and Vigil Honor in the Order of the Arrow.
In February 2026, Phil was elected Council President. He remains committed to growing Scouting and investing in young leaders.
