Atlantic Chamber Ensemble (ACE)

The ensemble is a chamber music co-op dedicated to presenting “Concepts” – exciting performances in off beat formats and venues. The idea is to have the artists (and guests!) collaborate in all sorts of combinations, all the while brainstorming deeper connections to audiences. Things we have talked about doing, but who knows where or when…..sound synesthesia, heart rates in concert, language and music, composers next door and more. We want to play for young and old in concert halls, houses and bars. Think of us as a musical and mobile artist colony.

While showcasing the talent of the Richmond area on the national stage through recording and touring, our mission is to build new connections and audiences with the people in our own community via innovative programs and community interaction, as well as through partnerships with local organizations. With our unique combination of strings, winds, and piano, we have the ability to program a variety of different styles of music and can include works seldom heard for their use of less traditional instrumentation. Not only presenting treasures of the past, we are committed and excited to find current composers whose music is accessible, interesting, and enjoyable for the people in our community.
