🎨Over the summer we are having so much joy spending time with our incredible teens. We are having a fruitful summer full of fellowship, spiritual growth, and beautiful moments with the Lord.

🎨During our Friday Summer Bible Study and Art Program we made sea glass jewelry, but the craft was about so much more than creating something beautiful to wear. Sea glass, begins as broken pieces of glass, tossed and shaped by the waves over time until it becomes smooth, unique, and treasured. It’s a beautiful reminder of how God works in our lives. Through every season, challenge, and experience, He is patiently transforming us into something beautiful for His glory.

🎨One of the girls looked at her jewelry and said: “I feel proud of myself.” 💚
Moments like that are why we do this —not just to make crafts, but to build confidence, encourage one another, and remind these amazing teens of the value God has placed within them.

🕊️”Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”~ Philippians 1:6

♥️We’re so thankful for these Fridays together and the opportunity to watch God continue His good work in each of these young lives.

♥️Love One Another

💚We absolutely love spending our summer months with our incredible teens. Through our Friday Summer Bible Study and Art Program, we create a nurturing atmosphere for growth, healing, and self-expression. It’s been truly amazing to see how the teens are blossoming in both faith and creativity.

🤍 We talked about the way God sees us. We decorated mirrors that can be sweet reminders about how deeply loved by God we are and that because of Jesus he doesn’t see any of our flaws only the perfection of his Son.

🤍 “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”- Psalm 139:13-14

🎨 The students were so creative with their designs!

📓 We end each week with quiet time with the Lord. The students spend time writing their hearts on paper and talking to God.

🕊️Every time we say, “I believe in the Holy Spirit,” we mean that we believe that there is a living God able and willing to enter human personality and change it. -J.B. Phillips

🙏🏼We are so grateful for our Friday leaders and volunteers who bring so much love and joy to our gatherings each week! Thank you Justine Chapman Christiana Woodard Lily Rollison Jameson Ward Ameiyah Bugg!

Our Grace & Peace Community Ministries students had an incredible time at National Community Church YTH NCC Mission Camp DC! 💙 Thank you Jesus for blessing our students so far beyond!

From energetic games like tug-of-war, balloon toss, flag tag, silent disco and the exciting leaders vs. students basketball game, to meaningful moments of worship and reflection, it was a week of fun, friendship, and faith! The girls loved joking on Pastor Collin’s “cheese macker” croc shoes! Another highlight was the “find the lyric” game with Pastor Nick. 🎶

One of the favorite worship songs was “I Thank God,” and our students were reminded that worship is so much more than singing. It’s about giving our hearts and lives to God.

One lesson that really stuck with them was that God is always with us. Even when life feels dark and we stumble, He never leaves our side.

The mission team walked the campers through a simulation where they got to walk in someone else’s shoes and experience what it could be like to be a refugee or displaced person in the world today.

Our students also had the opportunity to spend time at the pool, where they witnessed thirteen baptisms, a beautiful reminder of lives being changed through Christ.

Perhaps the most impactful part of the week was the student-led devotionals each morning. Seeing young people boldly share God’s Word and encourage one another was truly inspiring.

A quote from our student leader Ameiyah, “God is alive in me and I am running towards him.”

We are so thankful for safe travels, unforgettable memories, and a week that brought our students closer to God. Please continue praying that the seeds planted this week will continue to grow in their hearts. ❤️

🕊️We are beyond grateful for the blessing of being with National Community Church DC and online campuses! We have a group of our middle school student’s along with one of our youth team leaders attending NCC YTH Mission Camp June 19-24. We pray the Holy Spirit would rest upon us and what we see as impossible would indeed be POSSIBLE!

🕊️Compassion isn’t just about feeling the pain of others; it’s about bringing them in toward yourself. If we love what God loves, then, in compassion, margins get erased.

🕊️The measure of our compassion lies not in our service of those on the margins, but in our willingness to see ourselves in kinship with them.

🕊️We are impacting families lives one heart at a time. God is helping us bless the next generation.

🕊️We are thankful for those who donated for our 8 youth to attend this amazing mission camp week! Our supporters are the reason lives are being changed and people are being given opportunities to live up to their God-given potentials!

🙏🏽Prayer is the key to Christian growth.
♥️Psalm 34:3 Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness; let us exalt his name together.

🙏🏽Through prayer God still works His miracles today and gives us inspirational testimonies like Jameson Ward shared with our Grace & Peace Community Ministries Summer Friday Youth Group. Jameson and her godmother Amy Cassidy Snow shared about God’s healing power on Jameson’s life. Jameson shared how her parents Jamie & Karen Lauper Ward prayers and the prayers of her family and friends and many others helped her grow in faith as she let go of fear and leaned in to trusting God with her whole future concerning her health needs. Jameson’s life is an example of the fruit of prayer.

🪢We made paracord bracelets as a reminder our strength comes from being connected to others and to God. Amy reminded our group to look at their bracelets and remember God sees your future and God sees your potential. You are not defined by your struggles. You are defined by the God who created you and loves you!
Ecclesiastes 4:9,12 Two are better than one…though one maybe overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
Prayers Matters♥️You Matter!

Thank you Jameson for shining your love and light on our Friday gatherings with our youth! You are a difference maker! Your beautiful heart is helping us see God’s Love in Action! ♥️🙌🏼

May Blessings 🕊️ God’s Goodness

🤍God is able to give you joy where there should only be grief.
🕊️Take the very hardest thing in your life—the place of difficulty, and expect God to triumph gloriously in that very spot. ~ Lilias Trotter
🤍Genesis 16:13 ….I have now seen the one who sees me….
El Roi doesn’t mean that God simply notices; it means He sees with understanding, compassion, and patience.

💫We are so proud of our young people and their courage to work through hard things and to be able to help each other through their difficulties and also to make sure they celebrate in each other’s joy. In this way we are growing closer together and more resilient and stronger each day! We love our children and their parents and we are so grateful for each of them and thank God for their love and friendship.

💫Nasir Arthur, one of our youth attending Franklin Military Academy performed Langston Huge’s poem “Freedom” at the Hippodrome Theatre. Outstanding performance from our gifted Nasir!

💫Congratulations to Cameron Houchens on his graduation from Hampton University! You are amazing! God has incredible plans for you! Proverbs 16:3
