We're getting ready for a big spring, and it all starts here.

Join us at our April Business Meeting as we gear up for two of our biggest events of the year: the Annual Golf Tournament and Industry Appreciation Night. We'll be sharing updates, final plans, and ways to jump in and get involved.

If you've been thinking about checking out NAWIC, this is a great meeting to attend. Come see what we're about, meet some great people, and get a feel for the chapter. We'd love to have you in the room.

⛳ One of the best days of the year is almost here.

The 48th Annual NAWIC Richmond Golf Tournament is right around the corner, and a few sponsorships are still up for grabs. Don’t wait… sponsorships close April 17.

🔥 New this year: “Drop It Like It’s Hot.”
Buy a golf ball for a chance to win 50% of the jackpot.
More balls = bigger prize.
Live ball drop at 12:30 PM (you don’t have to be there to win).

Balls will be dropped from construction equipment, courtesy of Sunbelt Rentals, and the one that lands in the hole takes it all.

This is the event our industry looks forward to every year… great people, great energy, and a whole lot of fun.

Our March NAWIC Richmond meeting was a good one. We leaned into the St. Patrick’s Day theme🍀 and had a packed room. Always a great feeling seeing that many people show up and spend time together.

We recapped WIC Week and everything that went into it. A lot to be proud of. Shout-out to Leigh Musselman, committee chair, for her hard work making the week so successful! We also walked through the chapter's committees and how people can get involved. If you’ve been thinking about jumping in, now’s a great time.

One of the highlights of the night was having Sue Dibble, a member of the Hanover County Board of Supervisors, there in person to present a proclamation recognizing the first week of March as Women in Construction Week. Really cool moment for our chapter. We also received proclamations from James City County, Louisa County, and Goochland County.

We wrapped things up by recognizing our Member of the Month, April Greer. Well deserved! April quietly gets things done and is a true workhorse for this chapter. We’re lucky to have her!

Appreciate everyone who showed up and continues to support this group. This chapter keeps getting stronger.

Last week was a special one.

Women in Construction Week always gives us a chance to pause and recognize the incredible women shaping our industry, but this year felt especially meaningful for Richmond Chapter 141.

Throughout the week, we had the opportunity to learn together, tour jobsites, hear honest perspectives from women building careers in construction, and simply spend time connecting with one another. From the kickoff event with our Tidewater sister chapter, to the quarry tour, safety conversations, panel discussions, networking events, and wrapping up with a little creativity on Friday… it was a full and memorable week.

Most importantly, it reminded us how strong this community really is.

To our members who showed up, volunteered, and supported each other all week long… thank you.
To the companies that hosted events, opened their job sites, and shared their expertise… thank you.
To our sponsors and partners who continue to support NAWIC and the mission of advancing women in construction… we are incredibly grateful.

Weeks like this don’t happen without a lot of people stepping up behind the scenes.

We’re proud of this chapter, proud of this industry, and proud of the women who continue to lead, learn, and build every day.

Here are a few moments from the week. 💛

Thursday of was all about connection.

We wrapped up the evening at Main Line Brewery for a joint NAWIC + Associated General Contractors of Virginia (AGCVA) networking event, bringing together women and allies from across the construction industry.

Events like this remind us that our industry is strongest when we share experiences and build relationships.

Great conversations. New connections. Strong community.

One more day to go in WIC Week.

Wednesday of was a full one.

We started the day at the Level Up: Women in Construction Week Brunch, co-hosted by the Associated Builders and Contractors - Virginia Chapter, where three incredible women shared their perspectives and experiences in building their careers in construction.

Conversations like these remind us how important it is to learn from one another and lift each other up in this industry.

Then it was hard hats on.

This afternoon, we toured the VCU CoStar Arts and Innovation Academic Building with Hourigan and Virginia Commonwealth University, seeing firsthand the collaboration and craftsmanship shaping one of Richmond’s newest landmark projects.

From meaningful conversations to walking the jobsite, it was a great reminder of the many ways women are leading and contributing across our industry!

And WIC Week isn’t over yet.

We’re honored to support Yeshua's House and their incredible mission.

What started with an introduction in 2014 has grown into years of hands-on support, service, and heart. Thank you for the work you do every day for families in our community. We’re proud to stand with you. 💙

Thank you NAWIC! The National Association of Women in Construction held a fundraiser for Yeshua's House and presented us with a $607 check. President Wendy McQuiggan introduced NAWIC to Yeshua's House in 2014. The organization has since provided landscaping, a swing set and picnic table, interior and exterior painting, household supplies, and holiday gifts for our families.

Thank you, NAWIC Ladies. We are grateful for your dedication to our mission.
