💡Did you know horses have eyes on the sides of their heads, giving them nearly 360-degree vision? 👀

This helps them spot potential danger from almost every direction without having to turn their heads! As prey animals, horses evolved this incredible ability to help them stay alert and survive in the wild. 🌾🐎

However, horses do have two blind spots: directly in front of their forehead and directly behind their bodies. That’s one reason it’s important to approach horses calmly and where they can see you! ❤️

🐴 DAY SIX: MEET OUR HORSES! 🐴💛

Today, we’re introducing you to our sweet girl, LuLu aka Lululemon! 🩷🐎

LuLu is a beautiful 23-year-old Paint mare standing at approximately 15 hands high. She has a personality all her own and brings so much love and character to Sunrise Therapeutic Riding Center! 🌅

✨ A few fun facts about LuLu:
🌾 She LOVES eating her hay… even if some of it ends up scattered in the alleyway! 😂
🐴 She enjoys roaming the pasture with her buddies, Freedom and Mackie.
🐢 She believes in taking life slow and steady, especially when traveling to and from the pasture!
💛 She is a wonderful demonstration horse for our students at Sunrise, helping them learn and grow.
🥰 She may be an independent girl, but she absolutely loves getting attention, affection, and extra love from our staff and students!

LuLu reminds us that sometimes the best things in life happen when we slow down, enjoy the moment, and appreciate the little things. 💕

We are so lucky to have this sweet girl as part of our Sunrise family! 🌅🐴

🐴❤️ DAY 5: MEET OUR HORSES! ❤️🐴

Today, we’re introducing you to our handsome 17-year-old Paint gelding, Mac, aka Mackie! 🤎🤍

Mac is another one of our amazing horses who has been part of the Sunrise Therapeutic Riding Center family for over a month now! He arrived on August 27th alongside Molly and his sister, Lulu, and we couldn’t be happier to have him as part of our herd. 🐎✨

🌟 FUN FACTS ABOUT MACKIE! 🌟

🤎 Brotherly Love: Mac is buddied up with his sister Lulu, and if Lulu is doing something, you can bet Mac wants to be right there doing it, too! These two are quite the pair. 🥰

🧂 Salt Block Fan: One of Mac’s favorite things is enjoying his salt block. You know where to find him when he’s ready for a little snack!

🌾 Alfalfa Lover: Alfalfa cubes are another one of Mac’s favorite treats. The way to his heart might just be through his stomach! 😋

💛 A Gentle Soul: Mac has the sweetest, gentlest personality. He is such a kind boy and a wonderful addition to our Sunrise family.

🐴 Always Learning: Mac is willing to learn new things and continues to show us just how special he is. We love watching his confidence grow as he settles into his new home!

💕 We are so thankful to have Mac as part of our herd and look forward to seeing all the wonderful things he will accomplish with our students!

🐴🌻 DAY 4: MEET THE HORSES OF SUNRISE! 🌻🐴

💕 Meet Freedom — one of our other newer members💕

Freedom is our beautiful 7-year-old Mustang mare with an independent spirit and a personality as big as her beauty! ❤️

This girl knows what she wants👑 But don’t let the independent mindset fool you… Freedom absolutely LOVES being the center of attention! 🥰

She’s got a special buddy named Molly, and together they make quite the pair! 🐴💕

Freedom has also shared her sweet side by helping with lessons for the children here at Sunrise. Watching her interact with them reminds us just how special these horses truly are. ❤️

✨ A little fun fact about Freedom: She’s a Mustang, a breed known for its intelligence, resilience, and independent spirit. We’d say her name fits her perfectly!

👻🍂🎃 Why Our Annual Barn Dance Is So Important 🎃🍂👻

Our Annual Barn Dance is about more than a night of music, food, costumes, and fun. It is one of the most important nights of the year for Sunrise.

As our largest fundraiser, the Barn Dance helps us finish the year strong and gives us the resources we need to carry our programs into the new year. The funds raised help cover the everyday expenses that keep Sunrise running; from caring for our horses and maintaining our facility to providing safe, accessible, high-quality equine-assisted services for the people who count on us.

Sunrise operates year-round, and the work doesn't stop when the fundraising event is over. Our horses still need hay, farrier and veterinary care. Our programs still need financial support. Our participants still need trained instructors, adaptive equipment, scholarships, and a safe place to learn and grow.

That's why this one evening matters so much.

When you attend, donate, sponsor, bid on an auction item, or simply bring a friend, you're helping Sunrise prepare for another year of putting horses to work in some pretty amazing ways.

And honestly, we think fundraising should be fun.

The Barn Dance is our chance to celebrate our participants, our horses, our volunteers, our supporters, and everything we've accomplished together. It's a night to let our hair down, put on our dancing shoes, enjoy some good food, and raise a little money while we're at it.

Come dance with us, bid on something you absolutely don't need but suddenly can't live without, and help us keep Sunrise shining into the new year.

Every dollar raised helps keep the horses moving, the programs growing, and the magic happening in the arena.

🐴🍂 DAY 3: MEET THE HORSES OF SUNRISE! 🍂🐴

Today, we’re introducing you to Molly, our beautiful 16-year-old Belgian mare! 🤎

Molly is one of the newest and biggest residents at Sunrise Therapeutic Riding Center standing at about 16 hands high , arriving on August 27th, and she has been nothing short of amazing for our program! 🥹❤️

🌟 A few fun facts about Molly! 🌟

🐴Molly was born and raised in Minnesota and was a workhorse on a farm. She has been an Indiana girl for 4 years now.

🐴 Fan Favorite: Molly loves standing in front of her two fans, enjoying the breeze, and munching on her favorite hay! 🌬️🌾

🐴 Best Buddies: She enjoys spending time with our mustang, Freedom. These two make quite the pair! 🧡

🐴 Independent Soul: Molly is a girl who likes to do things her own way! She marches to the beat of her own drum and reminds us that there’s no need to rush through life.

🐴 Our Steady Girl: Molly has officially begun giving riding lessons to our students! She brings a calm, steady pace to the arena, helping our riders learn, grow, and build confidence one ride at a time. 🏇💕

We are so thankful to have Molly as part of the Sunrise family! It’s been wonderful watching her settle into her new home and begin making a difference in the lives of our students. Sometimes, the best lessons come from slowing down, enjoying the moment, and going at your own pace. And Molly is the perfect reminder of that! 🥰🐴
