When a person has nowhere else to go, is it justice to punish them for existing in public? NO. IT MAKES MATTERS WORSE FOR EVERYONE.

No housing → sleep outside → citation/arrest → criminal record → greater barriers to employment and housing → continued homelessness.

When Joseph Lamont Williams refused to leave the public park where he has lived for years, he was charged with a felony. Camping bans are on the rise as states seek to crack down on homelessness.

Everyone deserves access to the supplies they need to stay healthy and safe, without shame or judgment.

A health and safety vending machine, stocked by the HIV Education and Prevention Project of Alameda County (HEPPAC), has been installed at SOS's location, Safe Harbour, at 32 Harbour Way. Whether you are housed or unhoused, all are welcome to visit and utilize the resources in this vending machine.

The machine offers free health and safety supplies, including naloxone (overdose-reversal medication), hygiene items, and first-aid basics, available to anyone, no questions asked.

Visit us at Safe Harbour at 32 Harbour Way during our open hours on Monday and Friday from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. If you have questions, just ask. We're here to help.

Will you clean out your closet for unused menswear? Unhoused men who come to SOS Richmond needing assistance are currently unable to find new clothes because we are running so low on menswear.

Bring your donations to 32 Harbour Way, Richmond between 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Monday - Saturday. If you can't make that time, email [email protected] and we will make an appointment for you.
