Today was a hot one outside with a scrimmage at Highland Springs High School as they took on Woodbridge Senior High from northern Virginia. A good day for teams and officials to get some reps in as we prepare for the 2026 Virginia High School League football season!

Thank goodness we don't have replay reviews in high school football. We like to think there is no need for it in CVFOA officiated games because we are that good 😉

Two weeks until scrimmages start!

🏈 The work happens long before kickoff.

Every Monday night, members of the Central Virginia Football Officials Association (CVFOA) are hard at work preparing for the upcoming high school football season.

From breaking down game film and reviewing NFHS rules to refining mechanics and discussing game situations, each meeting is an opportunity to sharpen our skills and improve as a crew. Great officiating doesn't happen by accident—it comes through preparation, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous learning.

When the lights come on Friday nights, we'll be ready because of the work we're putting in today.
