When 2 families needed things for their new homes, we were glad to be able to help them!

For clarification:

Madison Home is no longer a flood-emergency landing station, and we are unable to shelter folks.

However, during this heatwave, we are serving as an emergency cooling location, and we are still able to provide flood victims with clothing, food, essential items, laundry facilities & showers.

Anyone wishing to donate to flood victims should look to the efforts at Country Store or contact County EMA.

Madison Home Extends Hours as Cooling Station Amid Central Kentucky Heat Wave

Madison County, Ky. —

Madison Home will extend its operating hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday, to serve as a cooling station for Madison County residents in need as a heat wave impacts Central Kentucky.

Although Madison Home is ending its emergency staging and landing operations for flood victims, the organization had extended those emergency services an additional 24 hours and will continue providing support to those affected by recent flooding (ended 7:00 AM 6/29), while continuing to serve the homeless population.

Located at 105 Fifth Street, Richmond, KY 40475, Madison Home will provide a safe, air-conditioned space for anyone in need. Available resources include cold drinking water, shelter from the heat, and free T-shirts for those impacted by the flooding or experiencing hardship.

While Madison Home remains committed to serving the community, we encourage those looking to make a financial contribution to first support organizations working directly with families impacted by the flooding.
