The 4th and 5th Grade Group of the Richmond Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. had a great time learning golf techniques with First Tee this past week! ⛳

While the super rainy conditions kept the group from heading out onto the greens, the students still enjoyed an engaging and interactive session focused on golf fundamentals, technique, and sportsmanship. From perfecting their swing to learning the importance of focus and perseverance, the experience was filled with fun and valuable life lessons.

Thank you to for providing such a positive and impactful opportunity for our youth — rain or shine!

Today, the Richmond Chapter proudly honors the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. This Memorial Day, The Richmond Chapter remembers our heroes with gratitude, reflection, and appreciation for their courage and dedication.

This Memorial Day, we remember the fallen and honor those whose courage, service, and sacrifice helped shape the meaning of this day.

The Harlem Hellfighters, one of the most decorated Black combat units of World War I, were not approved to receive the Congressional Gold Medal until 2021 — more than 100 years after the war ended.

Their story reminds us that Black communities have long modeled patriotism, discipline, and determination, even when full recognition was delayed.

As Jack and Jill families, we carry this history forward by teaching our children the fullness of the legacy they inherit.

Last weekend, Arthur Ashe Achievers put their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test during an exciting escape room activity at Gnome & Raven. Through a thrilling mission centered around spying and espionage, Jacks and Jills worked together to crack codes and uncover clues to successfully complete their escape.

During this activity they demonstrated communication, collaboration, leadership, and critical thinking skills while learning the importance of working together as a team. After conquering the escape room challenge, the group gathered for an engaging discussion on legendary African American spies and intelligence agents, including Harriet Tubman and James Armistead Lafayette. They explored essential spy skills such as intelligence analysis, surveillance, and codebreaking, connecting history with the interactive experience and leaving the Achievers inspired by the legacy and courage of those who used intelligence and strategy to make a lasting impact on history.
