Founded in 1995 by Bruce Stevens, the Chorale has performed major works like Vaughan William’s Mass in G minor and Copland’s “In the Beginning”, and joined forces with the Monacan Singers and other performing groups. Richmond Concert Choral gives two concerts per year, one Fall and one Spring concert, and often participates in other community events.

The Richmond Concert Chorale is looking for new voices to join our dynamic group. Frequently singing a capella or in collaboration with RVA Baroque, we perform choral pieces written throughout the ages and across many musical styles. Our programs are developed and conducted by Dr. Ryan Tibbetts, who leads us in rehearsal on Sunday evenings from 6:30 - 8:30 at All Saints Episcopal Church. RCC performs 2 concerts a year, rehearsing for about 2.5 months before each performance. This Fall 2024, we will start rehearsing on September 8th for a November 24th performance.

Interested in joining us? Reach out for an audition! The audition has three parts: vocalization to determine range and vocal quality, a prepared piece of the applicant’s choosing (which can be a simple hymn or folksong as well as an art song), and a short evaluation of musical skills (pitch-matching, sight-singing, etc.). Auditions typically last about ten minutes, and are held on a rolling basis.
