What does a thriving Richmond look like?

At Uplifting Our Visions, a gathering we co-hosted with the , , , , and , community members came together to share their hopes for the future. Residents reflected on the challenges facing our communities and lifted up a vision rooted in environmental justice, health, economic opportunity, and investments that put people first.

Richmond’s young people organized and won.

Richmond City Council has reauthorized Richmond Kids First, protecting critical investments in youth after a powerful, youth-led fight. Students showed up, spoke out, and refused to be ignored — even over their spring break.

This victory belongs to them. ✊

We’re proud to have stood alongside our organizing partners in this collective effort: , , , and .

We’re celebrating this moment and pushing forward for a future where every young person in Richmond has the support they deserve.

Bella — student, leader, artist — reminds us what’s at stake as arts education faces deep cuts in Richmond.

“Without music, I would not have found my confidence, my community, or myself.”

This is more than a program. It’s identity. It’s voice. It’s belonging.

Protect it. 🎶

Richmond City Council is currently considering the future of funding that supports programs for young people across our community — including opportunities that help keep East Bay Center tuition-free.

Thank you to everyone who showed up on March 24th 💛 Your presence made an impact.

Now, we’re showing up again.

On April 7th, the City Council will continue this conversation. While there won’t be public comment on this item, our presence still matters. It reflects what our community values and who we show up for.

🗓 April 7 at 6PM
📍 Richmond City Hall or on Zoom (link in bio)

You can also send a message to City Council and share why programs that support young people matter to you.

Let’s continue to show up for our students and our community.

Teryn recently took the stage for his very first Soul Endeavor performance — a meaningful milestone in his growth as an artist. In our conversation with him, he shares what inspires him, what he’s discovered about himself as a performer, and the rituals that help him get stage-ready.

We’re proud to celebrate his journey and all the intention he brings to his craft 🎶
